FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Fireside Chat in Menominee
focus on Election Security
MENOMINEE, MI
Guest Presenters: Marc Kleiman, Menominee County Clerk
Date: Monday, June 15, 2026

The Menominee County Democratic Party hosted its monthly Fireside Chat on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. CST at Spies Public Library. The featured speaker was Menominee County Clerk Marc Kleiman, who discussed election security, administration, voter confidence, and how residents can be assured they will be able to vote and have their vote counted in the November 2026 midterm elections.
The discussion comes at a time when election confidence remains an important public concern. A recent NPR/PBS News/Marist poll found that 66% of Americans are confident that their state or local government will run a fair and accurate election this November, while 34% expressed little or no confidence. The same poll identified voter fraud, misleading information, and voter suppression as the top concerns, and found that 68% of Americans worry they could show up to vote and find they are not eligible. The Fireside Chat gave Menominee County residents an opportunity to hear directly from their county clerk about local election safeguards, voter eligibility, and the steps in place to help ensure every valid vote counts.
